About us
Watford Foodbank is a Christian charity which exists to show compassion to people in financial hardship in our local community by providing food, support and other assistance, in order to restore dignity and offer hope.
We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry.
That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
The foodbank is run by a small army of volunteers, giving up their time to collect food, make up food parcels and ensure that the food is received by those who need it most.
We aim to operate the foodbank to ensure the safety and privacy of all our clients, volunteers and supporters and have a number of policies in place, some of which are included here:
